AMD to Build First R&D Center in Korea

AMD has announced that they will establish a R&D center in Korea's Seoul, carrying out research on embedded processors, wireless broadband, portable media players, HDTV, and networking equipment, so as to address local market demand. AMD plans to increase the investment to US$10 million in the next three years. In addition, the R&D center will work with the government's IT839 Strategy, which aims at developing next-generation IT products by 2007.
